Tver Carriage Works sent 22 coaches to Kazakhstan Railways

Tver Carriage Works sent 12 compartment class (61-4440.02 Type), 8 economy class (T 61-4447.01 Type) и 2 staff (61-4445.01 Type) coaches, which altogether constitute 22 coaches to Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) – a national Kazakhstan railway operator.

The delivery took place within the contract signed in December 2010. Upon the client’s wish the coaches were painted turquoise. The newest achievements in the coach building industry were applied to produce the coaches for KTZ. The car body shells are made of stainless steel which enables their operation as long as 40 years. The coaches are equipped with modern air conditioning systems and body shells are highly soundproof. The interior of the coaches was performed with thermally shaped plastic. The passengers receive the necessary information on time and have their journey more comfortable due to the LED information displays and audio-video systems with individual volume control installed in the coaches. The 61-4445 coaches are equipped with lifting devices for the handicapped. A specific feature of 4440 series purchased by Kazakhstan Railways is that one can easily create any varieties and modifications of passenger rolling stock to meet the clients’ requirements to the utmost extent.
