Bryansk Mechanical Engineers Got TEM-TMH Compliance Certificate

Bryansk Engineering Plant (BMZ, an entity of Transmashholding, JSC) has obtained a Compliance Certificate for a pilot series of TEM-TMH shunting locomotives.

The certificate is issued on April 17, 2012 by Federal Railway Transport Certification Register (FRTCR) following the certificate tests results. It permits to produce a pilot series of 50 diesel locomotives and use them on Russian railways. The document is valid within three years (till April 27, 2012).

TEM-TMH shunting locomotive is a joint project of Bryansk Engineering Plant, Vilnius Locomotive Repair Deport (Lithuania) and CZ LOKO Company (Czech Republic).

A diesel locomotive is designated for heavy freight and shunting operations on 1520 track gauge rail lines with speed up to 100 km/h.

TEM-TMH is designed on the base of TEM18 diesel locomotive and equipped with its main frame and car bogies. A modular structure used in TEM-TMH diesel locomotive allowed to install a driver’ cab of tower type and a low hood. TEM-TMH is fitted with Caterpillar 3512B DITA (or 3508 B DITA) internal combustion engine with output 1455 kW (or 970 kW), an electric dynamic brake, autonomous heater for driver’s cab and air conditioner.

TEM-TEM design features AC electric transmission, an electric control and monitor system, modular layout principle, electric dynamic brake with forced cooling, Webasto diesel fuel oil preheating system. TEM-TMH diesel locomotives have been operated in two Eastland counties – Lithuania and Estonia for several years. 16 new diesel locomotives shall be supplied to these markets since 2012 – early 2013.

Receipt of TEM-TMH certificate is the second largest achievement of BMZ experts on this week, an analogical procedure was completed for TEM18V diesel locomotive just several days ago.
