Transmashholding started delivery of hood-type diesel locomotives to Russian Railways

Two first shunting locomotives TEM TMH produced by Bryansk Machine Building Factory (“BMZ”, Transmashholding Group) left for Likhobory Depot, Moscow Railroad.

TEM TMH shunting loco with AC/DC electric transmission is a joint project realized together with CZ LOKO (the Czech Republic). The diesel loco was designed on the basis of the well-proven undercarriage of TEM18DM and has some specifics. Depending on the diesel engine installed, the diesel-locomotive rating varies from 970 to 1455 kW. The layout of the hood-type loco and a large glass area enables to significantly improve the driver’s view. The loco integrates electronic TCMS. The module design allows reduction of costs in the course of production, maintenance and operation. The loco provides for driver-friendly work conditions: comfortable ergo-logic driver’s desks, seats, vibroisolating system and cabin HVAC.

In comparison with bulk products, TEM TMH ensures for 37% up to 45% fuel saving during shunting and transportation operations, respectively. Within one month period BMZ specialists will provide training in relation to operation of the locos.

Till the end of the year 2 more TEM TMH locomotives will be delivered to Likhobory.
