Transmashholding makes positive estimations of MWM Maintenance Service start in Novogireyevo

Transmashholding makes positive estimations of Metrowagonmash Maintenance Service performance in Novogireyevo Depot for the first quarter of 2014.

At present Novogireyevo Depot is fully complete with Metro of 81-760 Oka series produced by Metrowagonmash in 2012-2013. MWM Depot Maintenance Service provides the following maintenance types: operational service, technical maintenance and 1st and 2nd level periodic maintenance. Within the first three months of the current year the following significant organizational measures were taken: Depot personnel performing train maintenance was transferred to Metrowagonmash pay-roll; needs of the Maintenance Service in facilities to be satisfied within the next few years were defined.

Training of employees was made at Metrowagonmash. Additional training involving personnel of the companies supplying key components for Metro cars such as Sarmat TCMS, Knorr-Bremse braking systems, Vityaz diagnostic and monitoring system developed by Research Institute of Instrumentation named after Tikhomirov. All the above enables knowledge improvement of operating procedures and construction of key systems responsible for transportation safety and train control. New equipment: tools, welding complexes and modern diagnostic equipment was purchased. Some elements of lean manufacturing program already implemented at Transmashholding sites are being deployed.

Maintenance Service specialists have selected new cleaning agents for trains, train cleaning procedure has been changed: from now on each train has overall cleaning twice more often.

MWM Maintenance Service engineers started their work at the situation room of Moscow Metro, thus allowing real-time-mode provision of assistance to drivers of new trains.

A new tracking system monitoring technical parameters of rolling stock operation is being created. The system will enable analyzing of up to 1,000 metro train function parameters. Its application will predetermine an opportunity to take prompt decisions on either permitting the train for operation or its withdrawal from a line. Monitoring allows understanding of how effectively design resource of Metro cars is used and how effective are decisions on cars maintenance and repairs based on their actual condition. Comprehensive assessment of driver’s actions becomes possible, enabling minimization of breakdowns resulting from wrong actions of the staff.

«Only several months have passed since MWM entered Novogireeyvo, Deputy General manager for Maintenance Alexander Nikitenko says. – However, we managed to considerably modify employees’ minds. The main idea is that each Depot employee is interested that the majority of trains are technically available and can be at any moment set out to a voyage. Together with Moscow Metro we perform an effective work on rolling stock maintenance system improvement».

In August 2013 the Contract on Life Cycle Metro Maintenance was signed by Transmashholding President Andrey Bokarev and Head of Moscow Metro Ivan Besedin in the presence of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobianin. Under the above Contract the manufacturer shall bear responsibility for timely maintenance of 248 metro cars of 81-760/761 model. The contract signed is the first attempt of Moscow Metro to make maintenance contract for the whole life cycle of cars.
