Tver Car Building Plant has started execution of the contract on delivery of passenger coaches to Kazakhstan

Tver Car Building Plant has delivered the first in 2014 batch of passenger coaches to Kazakh Railways: 6 compartment cars (61-4440 model), 3 administrative and staff cars (61-4445 model) and 15 open-plan carriages (61-4447 model).

The tender for delivery of 52 coaches for Kazakhstan Temir Zholy took place in early June. According to the contract, this year TVZ will deliver 52 passenger cars: 13 compartment cars, 6 administrative and staff cars and 33 open-plan carriages. “Good value for money of the last product batch produced at our site for Kazakh Railways helped us to win the contract on delivery of the rolling stock for this country in 2014, Engineering and Production Director Sergey Gorin says.

As to the technical features, the rolling stock for Kazakhstan does not differ a lot from the coaches produced by Tver Car Building Plant for OAO Federal Passenger Company. It is designed for operations at 160 km/h speed during 40 years. All cars are fitted with eco toilets and air-conditioning systems. The administrative and staff cars have a special compartment and a toilet for disabled passengers. A special elevating device allows for easy access of the wheelchair persons to the car, and sound duplicating of a text on information displays and using Braille alphabet provides for comfortable travelling of sight-disabled persons.

As to the significant differences of the coaches produced for Kazakh Railways, the colour pattern of exterior panels in line with the customer’s corporate style and equipment of staff cars with satellite TV should be noted.
