Transmashholding participates in EXPO 1520
JSC Transmashholding participates and demonstrates the largest exposition in the Fifth International Fair of Railway Equipment and Technologies EXPO 1520 taking place in Shcherbinka, Moscow Region on September 2-5, 2015.
The Fair visitors can experience 12 samples of state-of-the-art rolling stock. A part of the static exposition is Type EG2Tv EMU, which is also called ‘the star’ of the Fair. Its formal presentation was on September, 3. Type 2TE25Km double-section mainline freight diesel locomotive was also on show; it is to be the first freight locomotive for wide use in the post-Soviet period. The fair visitors could see that windows in EMU and locomotive driver’s cabins are specially covered with sunshields produced by 3M Company and applied to prevent the cab overheating in bright sunshine. The railway specialists took an active interest in Type KZ4AT passenger electric locomotive, a joint development of Transmashholding, Alstom and Kazakhstan Railways.
Among exhibits are two baggage and mail cars – Type 61-4504 and Type 61-4505, with the unique control and integrated monitoring system; an escort railcar with the vehicle-borne diesel-generator unit. Next to Type 2TE25KM diesel locomotive are located Type 19-3058 grain hopper with the extended cubic capacity and Type 13-9744-06 flat car for transport of rail tanks and large-tonnage containers.
The new-generation D500 diesel-generator set for rail, marine and nuclear and small-scale power plant application forms a separate exhibit in the show. This project is implemented under the Federal Targeted Programme “National Technological Base”.
The Holding’s exposition arouses intense interest of rail experts representing CIS countries. The organizers of the Fair awarded the joint stand of Transmashholding and Alstom a special diploma for originality.
On the first day of EXPO 1520, an agreement was signed by JSC Transmashholding, Alstom Transport, OJSC R&D Institute of automation, informatization and communication for Russian Railways (NIIAS) and Foundation for Development of Innovation and Commercialization Center about establishment of a joint R&D Center in Skolkovo innovation hub. The document was signed by Kirill Lipa, CEO, Transmashholding; Martin Vaujour, Senior Vice-President for CIS, Alstom Transport; Andrey Pogodin, General Director, NIIAS; and Nikolay Grachev, Vice-President, Executive Director of Energy-Efficient Technologies Cluster, Skolkovo Foundation.
During the Fair, numerous seminars, conferences, roundtable discussions took place and were participated by Transmashholding CEO and other representatives of the Company.
During the general meeting of Association of Rail Machine Manufacturers (NP OPZT), the formal award ceremony took place for the winners of the prize for the best technical solutions. The 2nd place in the Rail Cars and Track Machines category was taken by Type 61-449 double-deck seating carriage manufactured by Tver Carriage Works (part of Transmashholding) while no 1st place was awarded. 12LDG500 diesel engine was the prize winner in Locomotives and Multiple Unit Rolling Stock category. In the dynamic exposition, together with Type 2TE25KM diesel locomotive were demonstrated: EP20, the first in the history of the Russian engineering double-voltage electric locomotive designed for speeds up to 200 km/h; innovative Type TEM19 shunting gas reciprocating locomotive; and 4ES5K, the world’s most powerful freight AC electric locomotive.
