Bokarev and Prime Minister Orban discussed transport infrastructure development in Budapest

The President of JSC Transmashholding Andrey Bokarev held a working meeting in Budapest with the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban. The parties exchanged views on the issues of future transport infrastructure upgrade in the capital of Hungary.

The dialogue was dedicated mainly to the upgrade of Line 3 of the Budapest subway, which is planned for the years to come. A. Bokarev and V. Orban discussed issues associated with implementation of this project, and recognized the Russian company’s willingness to work on new rolling stock development and to engage contractors capable of performing the renovation of underground and landside subway infrastructure at the high technical level.

Transmashholding has close and longstanding relationship with representatives of the Hungarian transport industry. In August 2015, the Holding’s site Metrovagonmash won the contract for overhaul and refurbishment of 222 cars operated by Budapest subway.

The same industrial site produced a batch of 40 Type MÁV 416 (Russian designation РА-В) rail busses in the first half of the decade starting from 2000.

In the past, the rolling stock manufactured by industrial plants presently incorporated into Transmashholding was delivered to Hungary, too (diesel locomotives, metro cars etc.).
