Shunting locomotive of BMZ production conforms to requirements of the customs union
TEM18DM shunting locomotive produced by Bryansk Engineering Plant (AO UK BMZ, part of JSC Transmashholding) was certified for conformity to the safety requirements of Technical Regulation of the Customs Union. This certificate qualifies the plant for manufacturing locomotives of this type during the next five years till February, 2021.
The available certificate is a regulatory requirement for the entire rolling stock because of “Technical regulations on safety of railway transport infrastructure” of the Customs Union, which became effective in Russia since August last year. Since then, all manufactured diesel locomotives must comply with its requirements.
TEM18DM proved its high quality in the course of certification tests.
TEM18DM shunting diesel locomotives belong to core products of BMZ.
These locomotives have a good track record of being operated both on domestic railways and on main lines in neighboring countries and beyond due to their reliability, high quality and ease of control and maintenance. TEM18DM locos are operated in Mongolia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Byelorussia, Lithuania, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.
Throughout all the years of production, these locomotives were awarded high-quality marks and confirmed their certificates of conformity to rolling stock safety requirements.
Over the past ten years, BMZ produced over 1400 diesel locomotives of this type.
