Grain carriers produced in Bryansk left for Kazakhstan
Bryansk Engineering Plant (AO UK BMZ, part of JSC Transmashholding) shipped hopper cars to Kazakhstan.
The supply contract for 100 high-cube hoppers of 19-3058 series was signed with TOO Logos Grain in July last year. The first lot of 75 hopper cars was shipped to the customer during the fourth quarter of 2015.
As explained by the customer’s representative Mr. Ravil Tankibayev, the main advantage of BMZ products is good value for money. “The higher hopper cubage of 118 m3 is essential for us”, he underlines. “We sell agricultural products both in domestic and foreign markets. Basing on the price and market situation analysis, the Company considered expedient to buy rather than to lease hoppers”.
Type 19-3058 hopper car of BMZ production was initially presented at the 5th International Railway Salon EXPO 1520 in September 2015.
It is capable of carrying up to 118 m3 cargo (112 m3 for conventional hoppers) and its load capacity is the same as of the reference model equaling to 70.5 tons. The uploading gate mechanism not only provides for antitheft protection but makes it possible to control uploading process and to pause or stop it completely.
High-cube hoppers used to transport grain have already approved themselves.
In February, 25 more hopper cars of this type are going to be shipped to another recipient in Kazakhstan.
