Transmashholding presented new rolling stock to the head of the Russian government
At Tver Carriage Works (TVZ, part of JSC Transmashholding), the rolling stock being produced in recent years at the Holding’s sites was presented to the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
The rolling stock was put on show at TVZ facilities for participants of the meeting chaired by the head of the Russian government and dedicated to development of the Russian transport engineering industry.
Two latest EMUs, EP2D manufactured by DMZ and EG2Tv ‘Ivolga’ from Tver, which constitute pilot projects of base platforms for the future Russian electric trains, were brought to the attention of the plant’s guests. The series manufacture of these EMUs can provide for supply of advanced rolling stock of domestic production for passenger service including high-speed service (160 km/h). The trains are manufactured mainly of the Russian components, which make up over 80% of the train cost.
The key exhibits were passenger cars produced by TVZ in recent years. The Russian Prime Minister’s attention was invited both to state-of-the-art convenient products and to double-deck carriages (compartment type, with seats, and dining cars), which are the pride of manufacturers and designers. The meeting participants familiarize themselves with RIC cars designed for international service and the new baggage-and-mail car.
Visitors had the opportunity to assess the latest solutions for urban transportation such as one- and double-section low-floor trams (‘City Star’, ‘Vityaz’, ‘Varyag’) and ‘Admiral’ trolley bus, production of which was set up at TVZ.
The Russian Prime Minister looked around the most advanced rolling stock for freight service manufactured at Bryansk Engineering Plant: 2TE25KM mainline freight diesel locomotive and TEM TMH shunting modular-type locomotive.
