At the XX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Andrei Bokarev, President of Transmashholding and Ron Pollett, GE Russia/CIS branch President and CEO validated documents that the companies will setup in Penza a JV company «Penza Diesel Engines» in order to produce engines and provide their after-sales services.

The partners expect that the creation of the joint production company will allow extension of engine offering, provide high quality of products, and win new market positions, including outside Russia.

The JV will start its operations in 2017. The engines will be produced at specially built state-of-the-art facilities. Starting with rail engines, partners intend to increase presence in ship vessels, land based power generation and oil and gas market segments.

As per the Business plan, JV annual production capacity will be 250 engines from 1600 to 4700 kW.

‘Transmashholding and General Electric have developed strong partnership’, shared Andrei Bokarev, ‘and today we have all necessary conditions to make our new project for joint engine production in Penza commercially successful, to satisfy the demand of today’s Russian market for modern and reliable diesel engines, and to increase export of high-tech products from our country’.
