Five hundredth traction motor for the mainline diesel locomotive has been produced at NEVZ

Novocherkassk Locomotive Building Plant (NEVZ, belongs to Transmashholding Group) has delivered to Bryansk Machine Building Plant (BMZ, belongs to Transmashholding Group) five hundredth DTK-417C traction motor with axle mounted suspension for 2TE25KM mainline diesel locomotive.

Production of motors for diesel locomotives is a significant part of interfactory cooperation development program being implemented in the Holding. It is deployed within the Russian Import Substitution Program and is in the list of priority investment projects of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Commerce related to priority civil industry sectors. NEVZ products are intended to substitute motors earlier produced in the Ukraine.

The peculiarity of DTK -417C motors is their welded frame and end shield construction. Original engineering solutions allowed for standardization of some required parts, complete elimination of processing casting scrap, achievement of higher motor assembly isolation effectiveness, low life cycle costs and the required operational reliability and safety.

«Undoubtedly, the most significant criterion for selection of an electric motor for the diesel locomotive is its reliability. In the meantime, during the previous periods of operation, DTK -417C motors proved to be a worthy alternative to the traditionally applied Ukrainian motors. Novocherkassk motors have a very simple structure due to which assembly and disassembly operations required for their maintenance are simplified as much as possible. At the same time, consumable materials (lubricants, collectors) are fully consistent with the currently applied railway electric motors», - Vadim Gusev, Chief Designer of BMZ New Projects Development Department, has noted.
