Transmashholding and Transport Systems presented the low-floor tramway for Moscow at ExpoCityTrans-2016

At ExpoCityTrans-2016 held at present in Moscow Transmashholding JSC and PC Transport Systems LLC (PC TS) presented the three-section 100% low-floor 71-931М Vityaz-M tramway.

Vityaz-M, six-axle tramway, was developed in accordance with the Technical Design Assignment of the Customer, GUP Mosgortrans of the City of Moscow. Technical solutions deployed in the tramway design and high level of comfort for passengers make this Russian development competitive to the best global models of this class rolling stock.

Wide doors allow for quick passengers’ boarding and deboarding, the aisle ensures for comfort movement along the saloon even in case of maximum tramway loading. The doors are equipped with driver call button designated for disabled passengers, wheelchair ramps are also installed for them. The area for wheelchairs is fitted with a fixation system.
Maximum passenger capacity of the tramway is 265 people.

The tramway is equipped with modern visual and audio passenger information systems and safety system, which includes video surveillance and satellite monitoring of the car location (GPS and GLONASS).

Application of low-floor pivoting bogies of the original design enables tramway service at the existing infrastructure of Russian cities without its modernization.

The endurance range is at least 1,500 m. That allows to move the tram from track sections where it impedes traffic in case of electricity cut-offs.

The cabin of the classic Viyaz is exhibited at the booth, as well as painting options of Vityaz –M tram, including official painting of Moscow ground transport vehicles.

The tram was developed on the Russian component base and is a completely Russian product. All tramway produced by PC TS are designed for operations at the post-Soviet territories tracks of 1520 mm, however development of modification for 1435 mm gauge is possible.

The Vityaz-M project is implemented by Transmashholding together with PC TS. Trams are made at the facility of Tver Car Building Works.
