Transmashholding started supplying components to Alstom

JSC Transmashholding extends cooperation with its shareholder and strategic partner Alstom, the multinational engineering company; Transmashholding is involved as a subcontractor in large-scale projects, which are implemented in a number of countries countries. 

OAO Centrosvarmash (CSM, part of JSC Transmashholding) signed the contract and started shipping Bolster B20 welded elements to Alstom Company for the integration thereof into Metropolis metro car bogies. The products of the Tver plant will be used in design of trains to be operated in Panama City metro system (capital of the Republic of Panama in Central America).

The three-year contract provides for the supply of 350 units of Bolster B20, this quantity is sufficient to equip 175 metro cars. It is expected that 29 bolsters will be delivered to the customer by the end of this year. 

The customer places high demands on the quality of welded components. The manufacturing area established at CSM is certified and the personnel involved in production process was qualified for compliance with Alstom quality requirements. To gain the necessary skills, CSM specialists were trained at one of the plants in France. CSM is the first of five Holding’s companies where Alstom’s experts performed the technical audit for compliance with Alstom requirements, which is confirmed by the international EN3834 certificate. 

It is contemplated that additionally to Panama project CSM is to start supplying oil tanks for transformer cooling system of KZ8A mainline freight locomotives to Locomotive Kurastyru Zauyty LLC in April next year in the framework of cooperation with Alstom.
