Two-hundredth 2TE25KM diesel locomotive has been built at BMZ

Bryansk Machine-building Plant (BMZ, belongs to Transmashholding Group) has delivered the two-hundredth 2TE25KM mainline freight diesel locomotive to the Russian Railways.

2TE25KM locomotive has been delivered to Krasnodar Depot of the North Caucasus Railway. At present 53 of such diesel locos operate at North Caucasus Railway. This year the Depot will get 17 new locomotives of that model.
In the four months of the current year BMZ reached one third of the target for mainline products production. 30 locomotives of 2TE25KM model have been delivered to RZD. The diesel locos are mainly delivered to locomotive depots of Krasnodar, Bryansk II of the Moscow Railway and Ershov of the Privolzhskaya Railway.

2TE25KM diesel locomotive is a mainline freight two-section diesel locomotive with AC/DC electric transmission with by-axle traction force adjustment. 90% of the components integrated into the locomotive construction are local. In comparison with mass series diesel locomotives, 2TE25KM provides for increase of the transported cargo tonnage by average 20% and decrease of operational expenses. The above is achieved by the increased engine capacity ratio.

One of the key advantages of the diesel locomotive is its user-friendly operation and maintenance achieved by free access and maintainability of its main components. Transition to new locomotives allows for reduction of maintenance and repair costs.

2TE25KM diesel locomotive is a mainline freight diesel locomotive, the majority of its components being produced domestically. Advanced technical characteristics of the locomotives, in particular, increased engine capacity ratio, together with favourable value for money ratio ensure for considerable competitive advantages of this diesel loco and provide for increase of the transported cargo tonnage by average 20% and decrease of operational expenses. User-friendly operation and maintenance are obvious pluses of this diesel locomotive. All loco assemblies are designed so that there is an easy access to them in the course of operation. The above provides for reduction of maintenance and repair time of the machine and decreases the cost of its life cycle.

In total 86 2TE25KM locomotives will be delivered to the Russian Railways in 2017.
