OEVRZ signs an agreement on information cooperation with Petersburg Metro

Oktyabrsky Electric Railway Car Repair Plant (OEVRZ, St. Petersburg, forms part of JSC “Transmashholding”) and Petersburg Metro have signed an Agreement on the information exchange cooperation in terms of the innovative methods of repairs and maintenance of the rolling stock. 

The document has been signed between the OEVRZ executive director Artiom Ovelyan and deputy director and director of Rolling Stock Service of Petersburg Metro Igor Shlendov. The event took place in the northern capital in the framework of the International Forum of Passenger Transport SmartTRANSPORT 2017.  

The purpose of the agreement consists in contributing to the increase of information exchange effectiveness, improvement of the client service, transportation process and transport safety in the metro, and in forming ways of advancement of technical and technological infrastructure of the metro. 

The agreement is aimed at reinforcing the cooperation of the manufacturing enterprise and Petersburg Metro in terms of providing information about the modern scientific and technical achievements, new technologies and technical solutions that have an actual or potential opportunity to be used in the metro, in order to increase the effectiveness of the transportation process and transport security, as well as explaining peculiarities of new equipment to the metro technical specialists. 

The agreement signature is the next step towards reinforcing the partnership relations between the manufacturer and the consumer of metro cars. 

At the moment, Petersburg Metro has over 140 units of 81-722/723/724 cars of three modifications that were created especially for this metro taking into account its technical peculiarities. GUP Petersburg Metro is to receive 27 more new six-car trains of this model before April 2018. 

Oktyabrsky Electric Railway Car Repair Plant is also the main base of North-Western region of the Russian Federation that provides the needs of railways for the overhaul and modernization of passenger cars, including for deluxe trains and suburban electric multiple units.
