‘Ivolga’ EMU won the Platinum Quality Mark


The. urban EMU EG2Tv ‘Ivolga’ (‘the Oriole’ in Russian) manufactured by the Tver Carriage Works (TVZ, part of JSC Transmashholding) is honored with the highest award of the ‘All-Russian Brand (IIIrd millennium). Quality Mark of the XXI century’ contest – the Platinum Quality Mark.  

For over half a year, the ‘Ivolga’ electric trains run on the route Moskva-Kievskaya – Novoperedelkino. In terms of the customer and technical performance, the new Russian EG2Tv EMUs are at least at par with the best world models, and even outperform them in several ways. The ‘Ivolga’ train is the entirely Russian development and a clear illustration for a successful deployment of innovative technologies in the domestic machine-building industry. EG2Tv is the first representative of the new EMU family, which involves building of rolling stock for operation under varying conditions: urban, inter-city, interregional, intermodal. The Ivolga platform concept provides for possible making-up of trains with varying number of cars. At the customer’s option, the train can comprise 4 to 14 cars. 

The train meets the most stringent requirements for the passenger service safety and comfort. 

The Company and the manufacturing plant receive positive feedback from passengers and the Central Suburban Passenger Company that operates the present-day ‘Ivolga’ EMUs.
