Metrovagonmash started providing maintenance to “Moskva” metro cars at the “Planernoye” electric depot

OJSC Metrovagonmash (part of JSC Transmashholding) since April 1 started providing maintenance to the Moscow metro rolling stock at the “Planernoye” depot, which also houses trains operating at Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya Metro Line.

The depot will provide operational and maintenance services for “Moskva” cars (81-765/766/767 series). One train set of the new series is currently being operated at the depot; 26 more trains are expected to be operationalized by the end of 2018. The “Planernoye” depot will be fully equipped with train sets by the end of 2019. Therefore, 43 Moskva trains (344 cars) are to enter service.

The plant has been successfully increasing the special service maintenance of cars under life cycle contract over the past four years. Maintenance centre at the “Planernoye” depot became the seventh, similar centres are already operating in Novogireyevo, Vladykino, Vykhino, Sviblovo, Izmaylovo and Varshavskoye.

1,312 cars of 81-760/761 series and 344 cars of 81-765/766/767 series are subject to maintenance in six already existing centres. The special maintenance department numbers some 1,300 employees, who are highly professional specialists and who regularly improve their technical skills, share experience with employees of foreign companies and introduce new technical processes.

Evidence shows that metro cars service maintenance carried out by the manufacturer allows increasing technical readiness coefficient of the fleet, while reducing the operator's costs. Sustained involvement of metro cars manufacturer in operating maintenance allows effectively and quickly adopting the necessary changes to improve passenger comfort level and safety.
