Transmashholding wins its first tender in Argentina

Transmashholding subsidiary operating in the Republic of Argentina - “TMH-Argentina”, has won the tender for maintenance of the rolling stock manufactured in China and acquired previously by the country’s government.

TMH-Argentina will be responsible for the maintenance of 24 SDD7-type diesel locomotives and 160 coaches, manufactured by CRRC (China), within 24 months. The total cost of works is expected to amount to 29.7 million USD.

This is the first tender won by TMH-Argentina.

“Maintenance works will be carried out in Retiro (district of Buenos Aires, where the port and three railway terminals are located), as well as at the “Mechita” workshops, in which 3 million USD will be invested. We are proud to work for the Argentinian government, and intend to demonstrate our possibilities in the field of modern technologies. It is crucial for us that the project will be implemented by qualified Argentinian workers,” CEO of TMH-Argentina, Franco Comparato, commented on the tender results.

Kirill Lipa, CEO of Transmashholding, for his part noted that: “Our company has made a strategic decision to actively participate in the large-scale upgrading of the Argentina railway system, which is currently implemented by President Mauricio Macri's administration. The holding plans to invest up to 170 million EUR into the development of national manufacturing and overhaul bases. In the near future our engineers will organize a technical audit of the equipment that will be subject to maintenance, as well as start training local specialists”.
