Transmashholding delivers second Moskva class train to Baku Metro

OJSC Metrovagonmash (part of JSC Transmashholding) has fulfilled its obligations under the contract with CJSC Baku Metropolitan to supply two 81-765/766 series trains. The last train set was sent from Metrovagonmash to the Azerbaijan capital of Baku on 21 April 2018.

The contract for deliveries of two five-car 81-765/766 train-sets was signed on February 16, 2018.

The first train was sent from the plant a month ago and is already being operated in the Baku metro.

OJSC Metrovagonmash has been supplying rolling stock to Baku since 1967. There are 280 metro cars, manufactured by the plant, operating for today. The previous delivery of metro cars to Azerbaijan took place in 2015.

All cars have a through passage and wider doorways, as well as a new door closing-opening light warning system.

Trains’ design uses a new modern asynchronous traction drive, and provides noise and heat insulation of the cars. The design also includes air conditioning and ventilation systems, sockets for charging passengers’ electronic devices. Special space for carriages and large items is allocated in the trains. Trains livery is created specially for the Baku Metropolitan; a custom-designed information system is applied.

Each train set has two head cars and three intermediate motor cars. Estimated trains service life is 31 years.
