Transmashholding signs contracts to acquire Tulpar-Talgo and manufacture 1200 coaches for Kazakhstan

During the international trade fair InnoTrans-2018, Transmashholding concluded the agreement to acquire a coach manufacturing plant Tulpar-Talgo, located in Astana, Kazakhstan. At the same time, another contract was signed providing the manufacture of 1200 coaches between 2018 and 2026 at Tulpar-Talgo for JSC “Passajirskie Perevozki” (a subsidiary of the national railway operator Kazakhstan Temir Zholy).

The documents were signed by Kirill Lipa, General Director of JSC “Transmashholding”, and Kanat Alpysbaev, Chairman of the Board of JSC “National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy”. Transmashholding will assume over 99% of Tulpar Talgo’s charter capital. 

According to the agreements, TMH will localize in Kazakhstan the production of its in-house designed carriages: compartment, sleeper, staff, and restaurant.

Ernst & Young Kazakhstan, the operator’s exclusive financial and legal consultant on the issues of asset privatization, represented KTZ’s interests at the conclusion of this deal.
