Kirill Lipa and the head of Kazakhstan Railroads signed a memorandum on cooperation in modernization of signaling systems

Chairman of the board of JSC “National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” and general director of JSC “Transmashholding” Kirill Lipa have signed a memorandum on cooperation in modernization of train traffic management (signaling, centralization, blocking) systems for small, medium, and large railway stations.

The signing ceremony was held in Berlin, Germany at Innotrans-2018 trade show.

The memorandum presumes the start of cooperation between the holding and KTZ in introduction of cutting-edge SCB solutions for railroads of Kazakhstan. “Locotech-Signal”, a member of the same group as Transmashholding, responsible for development and integration of modern traffic management systems, will play the key role in implementation of the memorandum.

The introduction of modern SCB systems will help Kazakhstan Railways increase financial efficiency, safety of railroad transportation, and throughput capacity of its busiest stations and stretches. A switch to modern SCB setup will result in a significant reduction of lifecycle costs associated with traffic control equipment.

To reach the outlined goals, the parties plan to have a localized center of competence in signaling, centralization, and blocking by “Locotech-Signal” in Kazakhstan.
