TMH signed a supply contract with Russian Railways for 60 EP3D EMU cars

Roslokomotiv, part of TMH Group, signed a supply contract with Russian Railways for state-of-the-art EP3D AC EMUs.

Under the contract, eight new comfortable EMUs will be produced by TMH and delivered to the customer in June 2019. Seven of them consist of  4 cars, and one is a 6-car train. In July and August, the customer will receive four 4-car EMUs, and in September and October two more of the same. Hence, by the end of November 2019, Russian Railways is to receive 14 electric trains consisting of 60 cars in total.

It is expected that new EMUs will be operated on Privolzhskaya, South-Eeastern, and Gorky Railways.

TMH produces EP3D trains since 2016. These modern EMUs were used for transportation of fans and guests during the XXIX Winter Universiade that took place in Kasnoyarsk in spring 2019. At present, 34 EP3D trains are operated on the North Caucasus, Privolzhskaya, Krasnoyarsk, and Far Eastern Railways in Russia as well as in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

EP3D features a completely Russian design, consisting of over 90 percent domestic components. 

EP3D trains meet all safety and comfort requirements for rolling stock. The EMU is distinguished by modern exterior design (smooth body, new front part). It is equipped with a pre-crash system, HVAC system with air conditioning and disinfection functions, information system, as well as environment friendly toilet modules. The train is well-fitted for transportation of handicapped passengers: special lifts and fixtures for wheel-chairs in head cars, information plates duplicated in braile.
